INFORMATION SUPPORT OF DECISION MAKING IN THE PRACTICE OF MANAGERS IN SLOVAK FIRMS

Anotácia:
Príspevok je zameraný na analýzu súčasného stavu v informačnej podpore rozhodovania v slovenských podnikoch s cieľom poskytnúť odporúčania v tejto oblasti. Objektom nášho záujmu boli najmä nasledovné oblasti: zdroje informácií potrebných pre rozhodovanie a ich forma, spôsoby získavania informácií a využitie jednotlivých typov informačných systémov pre podporu rozhodovacích procesov. Z uskutočnených analýz vyplynulo, že manažéri sú často zbytočne zavaľovaní množstvom nepoužiteľných údajov nízkej kvality. Privítali by hlavne inú štruktúru ako aj formu poskytovaných údajov. Výsledky výskumu poukázali aj na nedostatočne a nevhodne budované informačné systémy (nielen v podobe počítačových IS) ako aj na problém straty podnikového know-how. V nedostatočnej miere je využívaný informačný potenciál podriadených. Napriek existencii bohatej ponuky nástrojov na podporu rozhodovania je ich využitie veľmi malé.

Abstract:
The contribution is concerned with issues of the analysis of the actual state in the field of decision support systems in the companies in the Slovak Republic with the aim of suggesting the recommendations in this area. The object our concern has mainly been the following fields: sources of requisite information in decision making and its forms, methods of obtaining information, and utilization paticular types of decision support systems. Managers get mass of data which should make the decision making process easier in spite of the fact that they frequently are encumbered by a number of unusable datas of poor quality. It would especially be accepted - the different type and the form supplied datas - by managers. The result of the research also has referred to insufficiently and inconveniently projected information systems (not only computer information systems) as well as the question of company know-how loss. It was vindicated that the information potential of subordinates is used insufficiently. In spite of the existence of the abundant methods for the support of decision making processes, the use of them has not been sufficient.
