Efficient management as a factor determining competitiveness on an example of selected broiler chicken farm in the Śląskie province

Abstract:
Analysis and evaluation of economic efficiency of hen broilers production at a private agricultural farm in Poland, was the subject of this study. Two types of factors that affect efficiency of the business were studied: technological (techniques, work organization, genetic material, fodder) and economical ones (purchase costs and sales prices) as well. To get source material, such research methods as directed interview, inquiry sheets and analysis of documents was applied. In the first part of the thesis, poultry market in Poland compared with other European Union countries is presented - together with future growth prospects and threats. The second part deals with the farm studied - its organization, production methods and technological and economical efficiency as well. Influence of selected technological factors on production results are analyzed. Also, an analysis of costs and profits of the business is presented in the thesis. The results of said analyses are discussed and conclusions drawn.
